Knife Rests
Knife rests gained there greatest popularity during the reign of Queen Victoria and were used to protect the table linen from being soiled when the knife and fork were not in use. Made of glass, metal, ceramic, bone, ivory, often in combination with marble, agate, mother of pearl, horn or tusk they reflected the styles and fashions of their time.
